I was never a Sindy collector, but acquired quite a few by default when buying dolls mainly at auction in the 1990s.   My great interest is in making original clothes for my dolls and there are usually half a dozen Sindys on show in my living room!  Sindy receives quite a lot of coverage in 'Doll Showcase' magazine, and I have created many knitting and sewing patterns for dolls which they have printed.

I would love to have some contact with other doll lovers, so discovering this website has been a great pleasure for me.

Hello, i just discovered this website it's great! I'm a 80's barbie collector but I'm also very intersted in finding out about other dolls that were made during this period.

Hope you will post more pictures from the 80's!

Thank you for your work :)

Hello.  I received my brunette Sindy doll shortly after her release, so mid-1960s.  I would've been around 7 or so, I think when I got her.  She was dressed in weekenders.  I got the pink checked pyjamas (bloomer type pants and a top with a clip at the back).  In 1974, we had a major flood, and I lost her clothes and accessories, but have had her all these years, still dressed in her pyjamas (Dad had made a timber bed for her).  She went missing recently, when I had a cleaner helping me to clear out some stuff.  I didn't realise how upset I'd be about losing her until she was gone.  So good to see others love their Sindy doll as well.  Thank you for your web site - it brings back some lovely memories of my childhood.
